Dog Training, Group Classes, and Doggy Daycare!

Canine Academy - WHERE DOG TRAINING IS FUN!

We proudly offer a varied curriculum in our obedience classes. Classes are one hour long and meet once a week for six weeks. If your household owns more than one dog and would like to attend classes with each one, the first dog must pay full-price, and after that you will receive a $10 discount on the session fee. Preschool - This class is for dogs with little to no training, this can be either puppies or older dogs that have not had prior obedience training. Training will cover basic obedience commands such as sit, wait/stay, down, and come. We also address behavior problem solving for issues such as jumping, barking, digging, biting, potty training, etc. In addition, we  discuss manners in social situations like how to visit with other dogs and people politely and behavior on a leash in public. Fee--$150

Kindergarten  - This class builds on the skills gained in preschool training and additionally focuses on attention training and manners for your dog. Kindergarten also offers an introduction to agility. Fee--$140

Middle School  - This is an advanced obedience class where the training includes walking off leash, stand stay, finish, out of sight stays, and long recalls. Middle School also offers CGC training. Fee--$140

High School   - For students working on achieving CD and CDX titles we offer this competitive obedience training class. Fee--$130

Agility - Agility courses can be a fun way to train and exercise your dog. We offer a full AKC competitive course and class for dogs that have graduated from preschool. Fee--$130

Rally - In the “old days” many of the Rally exercises were used to get an Obedience dog ready to compete in Trials. Now Rally is it’s own sport--you and your dog navigate a course of 10-20 different signs. Each of these signs provides instructions regarding the skill that is to be performed. There is a clear sense of teamwork between the dog and handler both during and between the numbered signs. While not as strict as classic Obedience, many of the same skills are required to successfully complete a Rally course. The best thing about Rally--- you can talk to your dog all the way through the course, guide with your hand or even pat your leg. We start with easy signs, short courses and progress as the team’s confidence and skills increase. 6-week course cost $130

Scent Work - This sport celebrates the joy of sniffing and asks a dog to sniff to their heart’s content! It is a terrific sport for all kinds of dogs, and a wonderful way to build confidence in a shy or young dog. In so many dog sports the handler is in control, but this isn’t true in Scent Work--the handler must rely on the dog. The owner learns to “read” their dog--how do they search, how do they mark their find, etc. as well as have the dog start to develop their own sniffing technique. We begin with the Birch scent (there are four scents in AKC Scent Work: Birch, Anise, Clove and Cypress). Additional search elements and scents are added as we develop and understand our dogs. Be sure to bring your dog’s most favorite treat to this class! 6-week course cost $130

Tricks - Trick training builds confidence, improves obedience and manners, strengthens the bond between you and your dog, and is a great form of physical and mental exercise. During this class you will lean the foundation of how to train your dog tricks, how to break down complicated tricks into specific parts and then put the parts together to complete a trick. Tricks including spins, weave between your legs, jumps of all types, go around, take a bow, roll over, high five and wave hello, beg, play dead, crawl and much more. 4-week course cost $80.00

CGC Class - This class provides training to accomplish the AKC Canine Good Citizen certification. Advanced students can obtain the Advance CGC, the Urban CGC and beginning levels of Trick CGC Training. Fee--$80

Private Training Class  - We offer private one-on-one lessons that will be tailored specifically for your needs. Fee--$75/30 minutes OR $150/1-hour (60 minutes)

Camp Canine—Where Your Dog Plays All Day!

Doggy daycare gives your pet the opportunity to play all day, when dogs spend the day at our daycare they will be tired! All day play can lead to a calmer and happier dog. We offer grassy areas for outdoor play along with an indoor climate controlled playroom. 

• We require proof of up-to-date vaccinations, including the kennel cough vaccine. 
• If your dog becomes rough or aggressive, they will be given a time out to help them calm down. For the safety of all pets involved, if the aggressive behavior continues, your pet will be asked not to return.
• Playtime is from 7am-12pm and 2pm-6pm Monday-Friday.
• We offer exit baths and can include nail trimming while your dog is boarding or at daycare.
• We can administer medication at no extra fee, so even if your pet needs some extra attention, they can still come play at doggy daycare!
• We ensure that water is always available for your pet.
• We supply toys and treats for your dog while they are at doggy daycare. You are welcome to bring your own, just be aware that toys may not survive the day!  Any special treats or bones will be given to your dog when they are in the crate. 
• For the safety of all the pets, we feed all dogs in crates.
