About Canine Academy

Canine Academy is fully licensed with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture.

At Canine Academy we truly believe that training should be fun for both the owner and the animal. We understand that every dog and every owner is different with an individual set of needs. Through, over 40 years of training experience we have learned how to individualize training so that every owner and every dog is getting exactly what they need in order to be successful with their training. We implement voice and hand commands with an abundance of praise in our training methods. 

• Lorretta Pyeatt, owner and operator of Canine Academy and Camp Canine is highly experienced, in, recognized, and decorated in the dog training world. 
• Lorretta has over 40 years experience training dogs.
• She is a certified tester with the American Kennel Club (AKC) for their Canine Good Citizen Program, which includes Canine Good Citizen, Advanced Good Citizen, and Urban Good Citizen.
• Lorretta is also a certified tester with the AKC for their four trick dog titles—Novice Trick Dog (TKN), Intermediate Trick Dog (TKI), Advanced Trick Dog (TKA), and Trick Dog Performer (TKP). 
• AKC Certified Canine Ambassador
• Animal Behavior College Mentor Trainer since 2000
• Tester/Observer for Working Canines Pet Therapy and Service Dog Certification

Early in the 1980’s Allen and Lorretta Pyeatt began training and showing dogs. Their kennel name is Loral. Loral Rottweilers has produced a stunning amount of accolades.
